Engineer, Quality Assurance
We currently have the following opportunity available in our Calgary office:
Engineer, Quality Assurance (Job Code: EQA01)
As an integral member of our Engineering team and reporting to Hallmark’s Chief Operating Officer/VP Operations, and working effectively with our remote locations, your primary responsibilities are to coordinate engineering related services for Hallmark’s internal and external stakeholders. Specific duties will include:
- Interfacing with Hallmark’s key internal stakeholders (Sales/Marketing, Operations, Procurement, Inventory) and assigned customers providing engineering guidance as it relates to engineering procedures, specifications and sales support;
- Developing the following key internal processes, procedures, and standards to meet the needs of the business – Field services installation, Quality Assurance documentation, connection qualifications, material testing procedures;
- Developing and approving manufacturing inspection plans;
- Product research and recommendations;
- Managing NCR (non-conformance reporting) with key customers and suppliers;
- Providing technical training to employees and customers;
- Pipe Purchase order development / approvals from a technical perspective
- Review and approve MIP’s (manufacturing inspection plans) and MTR’s (material test reports)
- Data organization, review and analysis
- Coordination and involvement in inventory maintenance
- Ensuring effective mill relationships
- Providing guidance to all internal customers and more junior engineering staff
- Developing standard operating practices for a variety of internal customers
Experience and Qualifications:
You will possess a related post secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering (other related disciplines will be considered – Petroleum, Metallurgical, Chemical, etc.) a minimum 3 years of related experience preferably in the oil and gas industry, a strong understanding of API and ISO standards and quality processes, knowledge of oilfield tubular goods, proven success in exceptional (technical) customer service, effective interpersonal / organizational, and communication skills, proficiency with MS office applications, able to identify customer needs and solutions at an early stage, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and willing to travel approximately 2 days / month.
